The decomposition of organic thoughts into a digital residue that, much like traditional compost (or manure, for that matter), may contain some trace nutrients… or may just smell bad.

very interesting write up, i'd never heard of anything like this before. hate to say it though but i honestly don't think the general public even cares if a politician is telling the truth or not these days. living in denial is so...comfortable, nobody would even know what to do with truth. for ex. silvio berlusconi just won the election in italy today. i don't think anyone could accuse him of being an honest man, and yet he won. strangely, more than honesty, people want politicians who will tell them what they want to hear so they can sleep at night. youre right though, this technology should not be left in the hands of the military. they will just use it to support their own agenda. would be great though if it could be used to get some innocent people off of death row. thats about the best use of it i can think of

There is something called LieJinx, which calls itself a "downloadable realtime virtual streaming polygraph" whose purpose is to give lie detection to the masses.

It is actually vaporware, but idea is this: the threat that something like this might exist is supposed to give pause to politicians tempted to bend the truth.

Nice idea.

I think that's a great idea for scifi story. How would people react if they suddenly realized their lies could be detected? Great post!
